The Digital Studio School is the first of a new type of learning environment that will mix traditional study with workplace experience. Part of a government led initiative spearheaded by Derby College, it is hoped the school will play an important role in shaping the digital workforce of the future across the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire regions.

Threeguru’s digital and social media skills were called upon to help launch the Digital Studio School campaign - a Derby College led approach to directly address the skills shortage and create employment opportunities for a ‘born digital’ generation of 14 - 19 year olds.

To engage our young target audience, threeguru originated an artwork toolkit for Derby College's internal team to create a vibrant advertising campaign that included printed collateral, social and outdoor media.

The roll out also included a dynamic 30 second cinema advertising campaign, with motion graphics to introduce a new approach to learning. An extended version was also commissioned to feature in depth interviews with key stakeholders to encourage local business participation.

A wide range of local employers have already signed up to be involved in Derbyshire's first studio school and it is hoped the student numbers will soon follow.

Should it prove successful The Digital Studio School will create a digital workforce adept in social media marketing to ensure local employers are equipped with key skills that are increasingly becoming a vital tool for marketing and reaching their consumer base.
