“Cutting Corners” On Logo Design

Derby based design agency threeguru has worked its magic to create a new logo design and brand identity for SIM Ranger, a start up venture founded by two process engineers with a desire to overcome the limitations of fixed SIM GPRS communication devices.

For the new identity, threeguru’s creative team introduced a distinctive SIM card shaped logo design and a bold colour palette selection which will ultimately represent each of the six SIM Ranger core market sectors.

A distinctive ‘cutaway corner’ logo design element will become a hallmark for the new brands printed collateral including business cards, a suite of data sheets and an A4 folder for B2B comms.

Reflecting on more than a hint of irony on how his team “cuts corners” during the creative process Threeguru’s Creative Director Chris Reynolds set the record straight.

“Our original ‘cutaway corner’ logo sketches ended up being not too far away from the final logo design which is testimony to how well we understood the client. From the very first meeting we felt an affinity with the brief based on our experience of originating creative for similar B2B start ups.”

“A royal blue ‘hero’ colour was adopted to represent the SIM Ranger logo and a series of icons have also been created to add to the clean, responsive website presence.”
