Having worked closely with Derby College over the past 18 months to develop their ‘Update Your Status’ summer campaign and a variety of video production and animation projects, digital creative agency threeguru have invested some of their own time to help develop the next generation of Derby College’s creative’s.
Theeguru opened their doors to Connor Webster, a 17-year-old media student currently in his first year at Derby College, to spend 30 hours gaining some hands on experience within threeguru’s derby based design studio
Connor’s time was spent developing his practical skills in a working environment to compliment his college studies and improve his chances of gaining employment in a highly competitive industry.
According to Threeguru co-owner Luke Sherwin the creative sector is a notoriously difficult industry to get involved in, with opportunities few and far between.
“Threeguru are always on the look out for new talent with a creative spark and we felt that by giving Connor this opportunity to spend some time in our studio, he will have enhanced his practical skills and added some valuable vocational experience to his CV”
Similarly Sally Turner – Employment Liaison Officer (Creative Arts) Derby College knows just how vital knowledge sharing from industry can help bridge the gap between education and work.

Alongside teaming up with Derby College, Threeguru have also recruited two apprentices in the last quarter as well as identifying one of the top design students from Derby University’s college of Art who will be joining the Guru’s creative ranks in early May.
