The 1st of September saw Midlands creative agency, Threeguru, take on their greatest challenge yet. The guru’s completed the mighty Yorkshire Three Peaks for Nottingham based charity, When You Wish Upon a Star.
The guru’s about to embark on their Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge
The team trained hard, but nothing was to prepare them for the reality of Yorkshire’s three highest mountains; 5200 ft of ascent, and over 24 miles of uneven terrain.
Team spirit kept the guru’s going
“The Yorkshire Three Peaks is the hardest thing any of us have ever done. We were pushed to our utter limits both mentally and physically. Thinking of the amazing work When You Wish Upon a Star do and the poorly children they help, got us through this mammoth challenge,” commented Susan Nash, Strategic Guru at the Midlands creative agency.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks pushed the guru’s to their absolute limits; with countless blisters, pure exhaustion both mentally and physically, terrifying heights and unbearable sores. It is safe to say blood, sweat and tears went into the challenge, all for an incredible cause.
The team are delighted to announce they have raised nearly £1400 including gift aid, for the East Midlands based charity. When You Wish Upon a Star grants the Wishes of children living with a life-threatening illness. These wishes allow families to put their child’s illness on hold, as they make precious memories that last a lifetime.
Team Threeguru take on Yorkshire’s Three Peaks
The guru’s continued to up the stakes of their target leading up to the challenge, with a charity close to the team’s hearts, the sky was the limit of their fundraising target.
Creative Director, Chris Reynolds remarked; “Once we knew how much money we’d need to raise to pay for a child and guardian to spend a magical day in Lapland and meet the real father Christmas, we set ourselves that target. Reaching £900 was crucial for the team to ensure the challenge would pay for this once in a lifetime trip for a poorly child. We’re over the moon that we have helped make this happen, and we can’t thank our supporters enough.”
The Derby design agency, were supported by local Derby businesses who donated prizes for the guru’s to include as part of their Yorkshire Three Peaks Charity Raffle. Prizes included Sam Randon Racing Day Family Ticket and VIP Tour, Derbyshire County Cricket Club 2x Tickets for a 2019 T20 Match and Signed Cricket Bat by the full squad, a Wash, Cut and Blow Dry at Sally Montague Hairdressers Ashbourne, Derby Brewing Company Tour and Lunch at The Tap, Afternoon Tea for 2 at The Old Bell Hotel, £20 Voucher for BEAR Coffee and a £10 Voucher for Doughnotts.

The Midlands Creative agency made it into Just Giving’s top 5% of all fundraisers in September 2018. The team were overwhelmed by the support they received; from family, friends, clients and local Derby businesses with Director, Lee Day noting; “We’re very proud to have raised an amount that will provide fantastic wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. We cannot thank our supporters enough!”
Threeguru’s Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge comes a mere 6 months after the team slept rough for a night in support of the YMCA Derbyshire Sleep Easy event, raising nearly £1500. The guru’s charity events this year has seen them rack up a total of almost £3000 for local charities.
